Internet users may love to share their stories via social media, but they also care about their privacy, the Washington Post reports. According to researchers, there is a delicate balance of "privacy and publicity in the social networking age," the report states. "Fundamentally, privacy is about having control over how information flows," says Danah Boyd of Microsoft Research New England. "When they feel as though control has been taken away from them or when they lack the control they need to do the right thing, they scream privacy foul." Mary Madden of the Pew Center's Internet & American Life Project says "there is going to be more outrage or stronger reaction simply as more people get engaged with social media and they have more invested in it.
