Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairman Jon Leibowitz has called for privacy policies on apps to be as simple as a nutrition guide on a box of cereal, reports the Los Angeles Times. Besides making the policies easy to find, apps should spell out exactly what they do with your data, Leibowitz said. At a recent tech conference, Leibowitz discussed the FTC's privacy cases against Google and Facebook as having "protected the privacy of more than a billion people around the world" and insisted that users, not websites, own their personal information.
