It’s critical businesses undertake a “360-degree review of their data lifecycle to establish the types of data, different processing, storage, sharing and destruction of data that takes place,” Massey writes, adding the ICO has made it clear that having a data-handling policy in place is not enough. Rather, organizations must be sure employees are aware of their legal obligations.
