A new study by a mobile health advocacy group states there is not a “one-size-fits-all” resolution for mobile privacy legislation, Thomson Reuters reports. The mHealth Alliance report, Patient Privacy in a Mobile World: A Framework To Address Privacy Law Issues in Mobile Health, also has provided a mobile privacy toolkit for using mobile health technology. The evolving nature of mobile technology “makes it difficult, and some may say ill-advised, to create rigid legal rules that may not fit future mHeath applications or worse that may hamper their development in the first place,” the study states.
