The Agency for Privatization published unauthorized information about 5,190,396 Serbian citizens on its website, InSerbia News reports, noting the breach involves citizens’ first names, last names and personal identification numbers, among other data. The commissioner for information of public importance and personal data protection has been informed. “So far, we do not know whether this was some kind of security attack or an unacceptable error of Agency’s employees,” Share foundation said. “But we are sure that this is the biggest security failure in the field of the protection of information systems and citizens’ privacy that occurred in the recent history of Serbia.”
