Dark Reading reports on the announcement by ID Experts in conjunction with this week’s Global Privacy Summit that its RADAR incident response management software now includes EU privacy laws, making it possible for companies “to easily manage privacy incidents across EU and U.S. jurisdictions.” Meanwhile, data breaches—including those affecting Uber, Anthem and Sony—continue making headlines. Research indicates nearly 13 million Americans were victims of identity theft in 2014, with approximately $16 billion stolen, according to a Javelin Strategy & Research report, and the Identity Theft Resource Center found that hackers stole more than 85 million records in 783 reported data breaches in 2014. “Security and privacy are not interchangeable, and we must have both in order to protect our data and to live up to our obligations as data stewards,” B2C reports.
