Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has called for a new Digital Bill of Rights, initially called for after the Snowden revelations, to be introduced within six months of the new Parliament to “stop information about us being abused online, and to protect our right to freedom of speech.” In The Telegraph, Monty Munford writes that the 2015 Digital Rights Survey found that while the majority cited privacy concerns about their data, few took appropriate actions to protect it. It will take someone disproportionately famous who could make a Digital Bill of Rights a reality, Munford writes, citing none other than David Beckham.
