The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has completed its review into a breach spanning several years “that impacted 12 people whose private information was accessed by a civilian employee of the force,” CBC News reports. RNC Chief Bill Janes noted the employee inappropriately accessed the Integrated Constabulary Automated Network on 33 different occasions. “The 12 people whose information had been accessed were sent letters from the RNC notifying them of the breach,” the report states, noting, the employee passed information to a third party on three occasions. "It's very unfortunate that it happened," Janes said. "We dealt with it the best we could in terms of an investigation and an internal disciplinary investigation."
