U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell has named Jocelyn Samuels as the new director of the agency’s enforcement wing, Health Data Management reports. Samuels has previously served as acting assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division within the Department of Justice. She succeeds Leon Rodriguez at the Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Christina Heide, who is a senior advisor for health information privacy at the OCR, is also serving as acting deputy director for health information privacy. Susan McAndrew left the role in May.
