A couple of weeks back, a new social networking app made quite a splash at SXSW. Meerkat went from zero to hero faster than a Tesla drag race. But Meerkat may have been a flash in the pan. Just days later, Twitter announced it had its own version of Meerkat. Ladies and gentlemen, we now have Periscope. Whichever app you use, live-streaming just got significantly easier. “Now, I’m not saying that Periscope is a bad, privacy-invading social network,” writes Jedidiah Bracy, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, in this Privacy Perspective post, “but Periscope, and its less fortunate cousin, Meerkat, could easily become such "bad, privacy-invading" social networks.
