Pandora has lost its court argument that plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed against the company for alleged nefarious data-sharing with mobile ad networks lacked standing because they suffered no harm, MediaPost reports. U.S. District Court Judge Jeffrey White in the Northern District of California said the plaintiffs’ allegation that Pandora’s data-sharing practices consumed additional bandwidth on users’ mobile devices—in some cases driving up monthly fees—is enough for the users to move forward. But if they can’t prove such financial harm, they could face “an uphill battle” at a later date, White said.
