Nextgov profiles White House Cybersecurity Senior Director Ari Schwartz and his move from privacy advocacy at the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) to become a leading cybersecurity official in the executive branch. CDT Senior Counsel Jim Dempsey said, “You know he is fighting for privacy and other values, and you know he will never mislead you.” Schwartz said he is proud of the work that went into the creation of the voluntary cyber standards for critical infrastructure in the U.S. “Ari’s work on cybersecurity stands out in particular because of his ability to build bridges between different stakeholders and drive consensus,” said Commerce Deputy Secretary Bruce Andrews.
