Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) remains “seriously concerned” about health insurer Premera Blue Cross’s delay in notifying 11 million customers their records were exposed in a breach, The Hill reports. Murray, who represents the insurer’s home state, requested more information on its security measures and response to the incident, and the company responded with a letter on Friday, the report states. While Murray said she appreciated the “prompt response,” she remains “concerned about the pace of notification, as well as how impacted families and businesses are being informed and assisted.” Meanwhile, the Seventh Circuit on Tuesday was asked to revive a proposed class-action accusing Advocate Health and Hospitals of violating the law by failing to safeguard data stolen from its offices.
