Taking part in a classroom exercise, high school students learned how many apps could gain information from their Facebook accounts, CBC News reports, quoting one student who said, “It’s surprising, because half of them I don’t even know.” The students’ reactions mirrored the findings Julia Angwin published in her most recent book, the report states. Angwin spoke to the sold-out crowd at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit last week on her book, and Publications Director Sam Pfeifle shares the highlights in this exclusive for The Privacy Advisor. Angwin told CBC News she believes kids care about privacy and “actually spend more time adjusting their privacy settings than even adults do.”
