Privacy interests will likely be watching an auto safety bill that proposes all new cars be equipped with black boxes that record crash data. The Washington Post reports that one of the bill's more controversial elements would require the collection of pre- and post-crash data. While one proposal calls for recording 75 seconds of data, a Virginia Tech researcher says that having more would provide a better picture for post-crash investigations.
