On Monday, two Texas Republicans introduced the National Cybersecurity Protection Advancement Act in the House. Computerworld reports that according to Robyn Greene of the New America Foundation's Open Technology Institute, this bill better protects privacy than both the Protecting Cyber Networks Act and the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act. The difference, Greene says, is that under this bill, "The government would only be allowed to use the information for cybersecurity purposes." However, "the bill would still allow companies to share unnecessary personal information," Greene noted. The House Homeland Security Committee is scheduled to debate and vote on the bill today.
