The European Commission will host meetings between technology companies and law enforcement agencies to discuss concerns that encryption technologies are helping terrorists and criminals. Meanwhile, Facebook’s Richard Allan has suggested EU privacy regulators are endangering business in the EU, The Wall Street Journal reports, and a series of recent privacy investigations could fragment Europe’s regulatory landscape. “Facebook’s costs would increase, and people in Europe would notice new features arriving more slowly or not at all,” Allan wrote.
