Sure privacy is dead, but that doesn’t mean we need to fear the companies collecting data on us, says tech blogger Robert Scoble. Big data doesn’t scare him, he told an audience recently. “Those who embrace it are going to benefit in many ways, while those who don’t probably won’t,” he said. And in an op-ed for The Courier Mail, Jane Fynes-Clinton writes, "We in voter land have long lost our privacy, little by little. It is only when we are reminded of it that we feel the pang of its passing." Meanwhile, Epic Privacy Browser Founder Alok Bhardwaj recently gave a talk at TEDx with a starkly different opinion, telling his audience that mass surveillance is incompatible with freedom. “Privacy is not having something to hide, it’s the enabler of freedom,” he said.
