According to a Bloomberg report, some hospitals are using public records and credit card transaction data gleaned from data brokers to identify potential high-risk patients. The largest hospital organization in the Carolinas, the report states, is placing data for two million individuals into algorithms that locate high-risk patients. Similarly, the largest hospital system in Pennsylvania is allegedly using household and demographic data.
