A recent TRUSTe survey found that while parents of children from birth through the age of 13 expressed concern for their children’s online privacy, their actions don’t necessarily reflect that. Research found that 69 percent of parents in the U.S. post pictures of their children online despite privacy concerns, with one in three posting pictures once a month or more, while 58 percent said they’re concerned about their children’s privacy online and 82 percent said they believe it’s their primary responsibility to protect their children’s personal information online. In addition, results showed that one in five parents have bypassed rules to help their children set up online accounts on websites that require users be over the age of 13.
